hey guys,
got pulled over by the DPI waterways patrol a couple of days back and they chipped me on my lifejackets.
I've got the PFD2's with the inflatable gas cylinders and they hadn't been re-stamped for their annual checks, which is a legal requirement apparently.
I know that alot of the inflatable vests/jackets are available for hire from sth coast towns and just though it might be worth posting as i wasn't aware that they needed to be stamped every 12 months by a certified authority to comply with the legal side of things.
I'd just hate to see someone end up in court if an unfortunate incident occured off the stones and it was found out that a person was wearing a hired pfd that hadn't been stamped appropriately.
food for thought.
cheers
mg
