Deano,

Come on me eat Sharkie, that will NEVER happen laugh.gif

Matt,

No we didn't go wide as the wind was strong on the West Coast so all our fishing was in the Gulf.

Jack,

No surface action at all unfortantly. Things were pretty shut down.

Wilko,

Gee you do take some good pics.

Korgus

I've gotrta admire your consistency Korg
But as i tried to tell ya
Sharkies are good chewing if you get past the smell of ammonia in them.
Fresh is particularly good .Admittedly not as good as spaniard or broadbars but equal to spotties IMO.
battered or with tandaco fish seasoning mix on them have crunched them for ages.
when living in Broome damn near lived on them.

But having watched you punch them through the pot I've gotta admit they put out a mean burley trail especially if you mixed it with a bit a tuna or whale oil. biggrin.gif

Man V's wild (sorry Korg you would'nt make it)
getting fussy in your old age laugh.gif

need to get up North agian next yr me thinks

G'day Korg,

I was there at some point when you guys were there. I also stayed at the lighthouse caravan park at one of the bungalows and saw you guys cleaning your fish some arvo's at the cleaning station. I was cruising around in the metallic green WRX with plates KINGA86 obviously.

I didnt manage to get out on a boat but I did fish shorebased with a mate in town. It blew its arse off most days but still fished Pilgramunna, Sandy Bay, Bundegi, Learmonth and Wapet Creek and a little in the Gulf.

Caught a few good fish and only used lures except for when we shark fished on the last day. Caught a nice queenfish at pilgramunna and lost an even bigger one. We also had a ripper session on BIG GT's just before the navy pier but we got spanked even on 50 and 80lb popping gear.

Lots of fun was had! Good to see you guys got amongst a few. Must've been a killer drive from the south hey?

The drive wasn't to bad as we stayed at Gero both ways and had a party each night biggrin.gif

You should of said hello, i did notice the car as it looked a bit out of place up there biggrin.gif You probably did better than us on lures by the sound of it.

Yeah I should of hey I kept umming and arghing about it. Maybe I could've come for a fish on the boat? haha!

Yeah I felt very out of place in my rexy but luckily I cruised in my mates Patrol for most of the time! Next year ill be sussing out either a 100 or 80 series Cruiser or a Patrol as the rex doesnt quite have enough room or off road capability for the fishing I do smile.gif

Lures were dynamite. I must've lost 4 or 5 metals and at least a dozen jig heads to fish, snags and being casted off mad.gif But caught quite a few fish in the process. Soft plastics were by far the most effective with 3" berkley powerbaits and 3 1/4" atomic paddletails in lumo silver and gold catching everything.

*Also lost 2 poppers to GT's. A cotton cordel in silver/blue and a blackjack cubera 150 (expensive!!)

hey guys, i was up there and it was tough going i rekon..............one of the locals told us anywhere that was easy to get to had been raped by the tourist's. all we really managed up there was 1 nice rankin off the beach. we were pullin hooks like there was no tommorow though. we call it the Early Release Program (ERP). both of you did well there compared to us, in the end we decided to stir up the backpackers at the local caravan park instead.........and continued to pull hooks in that department too. . . biggrin.gif
